Jeremy Johnston, a senior from Richmond High School, has been named Capital Area Technical Center's (CATC) Student of the Year! Now in his second year of the Computer Technology program, Jeremy exemplifies dedication, skill, and leadership. His instructor, Mr. Mike Fraser, praises him, saying, “Jeremy works harder than anybody else.”

A member of the National Technical Honor Society, Jeremy has earned an impressive four industry certifications and accumulated 21 college credits. His outstanding performance at this year's local SkillsUSA competition speaks for itself—he earned three gold medals, one silver, and two bronze. Beyond his academic and competitive achievements, Jeremy also gives back to the community. He volunteered his time to collaborate with a team that set up a Minecraft server for Wiscasset High School, demonstrating his commitment to using his skills to benefit others.

CATC Director Nicholas Gannon said, "Jeremy has demonstrated an exceptional level of skill, dedication, and professionalism in our Computer Technology program. His passion for learning, problem-solving abilities, and willingness to go above and beyond have set a high standard for his peers. We are incredibly proud to name Jeremy as our Student of the Year and look forward to seeing all the amazing things he will accomplish in the future.” Jeremy will be honored alongside outstanding career and technical education students from across the state at a statewide banquet in May, hosted by the Maine Association of Career and Technical Education Directors. Congratulations, Jeremy!
