Superintendent's Message

Chad Kempton, Superintendent of Schools
Keli Terry, Administrative Assistant
Dear Richmond Community,
It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to another school year with the Richmond School Department. Whether you are a returning family, a new student, an educator, or a valued community member, I am honored to serve as your superintendent and to work alongside you with a common goal of building excellence in our schools.
We are committed to fostering an environment where all students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential. Our teachers, staff, and administrators are here to provide a high-quality education. We believe in the power of collaboration—when schools, families, and the community work together, we can create meaningful and fulfilling educational opportunities that prepare our students for the future.
We are excited to continue our journey as an independent school department and advancing our mission of: "Our educational practices will prepare, inspire, and challenge all students to become aware of the world around them through observing, listening, and considering ideas and perspectives outside of their own. Our students will become confident and effective communicators who will be able to participate fully in their future. Our students will become self-motivated learners, creative problem solvers, and responsible young adults who will have the knowledge and skills to excel in their lives, work, and communities."
I encourage you to stay engaged and involved. Your partnership is essential to our success. Whether it is through participating in our parent-teacher group at MBES, attending school events, or supporting programs, we welcome your participation in helping shape the future of our schools.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our students and schools. I look forward to a wonderful year ahead and to celebrating the many accomplishments we will achieve together.
With gratitude,
Chad Kempton
