Hello Families!

It was a very active week at school, featuring our Student Leadership Food Drive, A visit from The Tooth Protectors, the launch of the Scholastic Book Fair, and parent-teacher conferences.

We are especially grateful for the strong turnout of parents and guardians Thursday evening. I always appreciate the way conference night slows down the busy pace of school life and makes each child the focus of conversation and attention. It's a reminder of why we exist as a school community -- to ensure that every child thrives and is well prepared for their next steps in education and life. As you can see from the dates and notices and the Bobcat Sightings video, our students receive a balanced, deliberately designed, and vibrant educational experience at Marcia Buker; achieving that goal throughout the year takes shared values and commitments among all of us. As we head into the holiday season, we are deeply grateful to all who support, encourage, and believe in us.

In partnership with you,

Mary and the MBES Team

New Story Walk Book

Students reading for Story Walk book

Hi All!

Here comes our new storywalk book, Carl's Snowy Afternoon!

MBS Storykeepers read a selection of delightful winter stories and voted, tabulated, and discussed what would appeal to our young readers at MBS. Carl's Snowy Afternoon received the most 1st and 2nd place votes due to its charm, illustrations, simple language, and all the laughter it generated. Students made many connections, and we hope your children do too!

Look for this delightful romp through the snow beginning Tuesday, Nov. 19th.
