Greetings Families!

I hope you are enjoying another beautiful autumn weekend.

We have reached the end of the first month of school, and we are already celebrating mini milestones:

Prek students are able to independently complete their arrival and dismissal routines; Kindergarten students have finished their "Getting Ready" phonics lessons and have begun the primary lessons; grade 1 and 2 students took their first phonics progress monitoring assessment on Friday; grade 3 students are wrapping up adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers;
grade 4 students finished their IXL diagnostic assessments; and grade 5 just completed their first science unit. In other milestones, band students received their instruments and care instructions; our Garden Keepers harvested 160 lbs of potatoes; every single K-5 student's art work is represented on the walls of our school, and PE students have learned the rudimentary skills they will need for the rest of the year. As you can see, we got right to work when we came back to school; our students and teachers should be proud of their accomplishments! We thank our families for sending students to school ready to learn!

We will begin October mid-week, and below you will find a few October dates as well as the October menus.

In partnership with you,

Mary
