Dear MBES Families,
I hope this finds you well and enjoying the Back to School excitement with your children! We have had a great first 4 days at school. A highlight for us is that we have welcomed 15 new students and their families to our Bobcat family!
As always, the Marcia Buker Team excelled this week at quickly getting our students into school routines, following expectations, and ready to learn. Thank you for your support and for putting your trust in us each day!
My personal highlight each September is hearing the students playing outside my office window again. Yesterday, I got to be the judge of a cartwheel contest!
Team Bobcats going for for the gold!
Wishing you a great weekend,
Mary

Kerry and Carrie in the office thank all who have returned the back to school forms. We kindly request that those who haven't do that as soon as possible. A lot (a lot)of processing on our end goes with those returned forms and must be completed in the first month of school. To make things easier for you and us, we will have some tables set up in the cafeteria on Open House night, September 19th (5:30-6:30). You can ask any questions you have about the forms, fill them out on the spot, and then go visit your child's teachers.

Student and Family Handbook -- Your one-stop resource for school related information.
Arrival Time -- Please note that arrival time is 7:30 AM. Staff may be in the building before that, but they are preparing for the school day. We may not always be able to provide supervision for early arrivers.
AM Drop Off Procedure -- The drop off location for all students is at the south end of the building, facing the municipal and PD buildings. To allow other families to get through the line, drop-off drivers are asked to pull ahead or park in the municipal lot if your sendoff is lengthy. Also, please use extreme caution when exiting the drop off location as there may be pedestrian traffic.
PM Pickup Procedure -- For the safety of students, drivers waiting to pick up students from school are asked to park and wait in the Houdlette Field Parking lot. After the buses depart, drivers can slowly drive to the front of the school.
It Takes a Village
Please drive cautiously and follow the 15 MPH speed limit when in the elementary school zone during the hours of 7:20 AM and 3:00 PM. The storm-damaged flashing school zone light near the school has still not been replaced. Over the summer, the downed light went missing, causing a significant delay in resolving the issue. Superintendent Kempton is working with his team and our service providers to get a new light installed as quickly as possible.

COMING SOON: One of the back-to-school forms is the Do Not Publish form that either gives us permission or asks us not to put your child's picture in this newsletter or other publications. Once we get those back, I will resume the ever-popular photo section!
