Updates
Gently worn sneakers: We are still accepting donations if you have a pair that needs a great home at MBES.
Playground repairs: I thank the community for the concern over the condition of our playground. The equipment has a few areas that need repair, but it is otherwise safe and fun for students. We have commissioned a welder who has begun shoring up weak areas of three platforms. The work so far is excellent. We estimate that the work will be complete and all caution tape removed by the end of October. Beyond that, we will look to touch up paint, replace rubber footpads, and add wood chips for soft landings.
Looking out my office window this afternoon onto our Caterpillar Park playground, it sure is beginning to look like autumn! We have had a good first month of school. Students are happy and hard at work, and the teachers and support team are filling each day with engaging activities, lessons in citizenship, opportunities to help around school, and fun.
Wishing you spectacular views of the supermoon this weekend!
